Discernment: Don’t Be Fooled Again

What do you get if you cross a pig with a soybean? Piggy Sooy: A soybean that grows pig protein inside it.

We should be skeptical about every single claim made in favor of Piggy Sooy, as we should be for all claims made about so-called “foods of the future.”

Consider beef rice. The creators had to prove that their product has superior environmental credentials to beef. By their calculations, 100 grams of beef rice would release an eighth of the carbon dioxide of 100 grams of beef: 6.27 kilograms versus 50 kilograms. And, what’s more, beef rice would be more affordable, at a seventh of the price per kilo of beef.

These claims evaporate under scrutiny. And when we work the math, we see that beef rice releases more carbon dioxide and costs more than beef to get the equivalent amount of protein.

This keeps happening with these so-called foods of the future. It happened last year when a detailed study out of UC Davis showed that lab-grown meat, grown at scale, would release 25 times more carbon than traditional beef agriculture.

As soon as the calculations are out of the hands of the makers of these new foods and shills like the Gates-funded Good Food Institute, the numbers tell a very different story; they tell the truth!

So why do people get fooled so easily?

Simple. They lack discernment. This is also why people reject the Scriptures.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

But the Holy Spirit, then, gives us spiritual discernment. Therefore, a discerning person will acknowledge the worth of God’s Holy Word: All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge. Seeking discernment is a goal for all who desire to walk righteously: Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

True discernment starts with prayer. Just like Solomon who requested wisdom, the believer should ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and discernment. It is also a willingness to learn from those who are older and wiser. The book of Proverbs is structured as a father teaching his son what true wisdom looks like. Consulting God in prayer, asking wise believers for their input, and reading the Scripture helps cultivate a spirit of discernment.

If a true believer applies spiritual wisdom, and is listening to the Holy Spirit, that person will exhibit the characteristics of someone wise and Christ-like. Since Jesus is the model for living life, he showed discernment. He also taught on the subject. He emphasized not seeking the wisdom of the world, which clouds true discernment.

The more wisdom and discernment a true believer exercises, the stronger his or her faith, and the better that person will be able determine what is right, good, and God’s will, manifesting in love for God and others…just like Jesus.
