Flying Blind

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

As we travel through this life, with all of its trials and tribulations, sometimes it can feel as though we’re flying blind.  

You find yourself at a decision crossroad and questions begin to enter your thoughts.  What do I have to do next?  Do I sit and wait?  Do I go and do something?  What?  How?  You turn to the left, it doesn’t work.  You turn to the right and it goes nowhere.

But even during such times you know deep inside somewhere that this is what God’s calling you to, but you just don’t know the next step to take.

I’ve been there too.  But I take solace in knowing when God calls us to do something – maybe it’s a relationship, maybe it’s a job – whatever it is – he rarely, if ever, gives us the whole picture up front. If he did, we wouldn’t need faith.  But Jesus said – he promised us this:

That the Holy Spirit would guide us, and declare to us the things that are to come are true.  And you know it’s true.  When we don’t know which way to turn, all we have to do is pause and listen….he will speak.

We just need to slow down, take a deep breath, and listen to that small, still voice inside us.
