Wedding Vows

Deuteronomy 23:21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.

The word “vow” in the preceding verse is translated as: a primitive root; to promise (positively, to do or give something to God): – (make a) vow.

Marriage vows are binding promises each person makes to the other during a wedding ceremony.

My heart aches every time I hear or read of another couple ending their marriage. Especially disheartening is to know those Christian couples that have stood before God, and their church families, and exchanged these wedding vows only to disavow their promises at a later time.

May we all learn and take to heart the true love and honesty of the young woman who held to the vow she made to her beloved.

“I would like you to know that this morning at 3 am my sweet husband became and angel. He passed next to me in his sleep in our bed. It was very peaceful. I have been blessed to have been shown what love truly is and know that Zane and I have a beautiful angel with us.” ~Adriane~

Adriane and John were only married for 5 months – he was diagnosed 2 weeks after they were married. But she is (to me), a very wise young woman to recognize what true love is all about. I’m sure that when she said “I do”, that she never d…reamed that in 2 short weeks she would become John’s caregiver, as well as taking care of John’s son, Zane. John had sole custody of Zane, Adriane is planning to adopt him. Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies…..keeps running through my head. ~Jonell Walker~

Numbers 30:6-7 And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul; And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand. ~God~
