My Favorite Tomboy?

I was invited to lunch by my neighbors. They brought the food to my house and to be courteous I asked if they would like to watch TV. Upon handing them the remote they selected a popular daytime TV show here. Today’s feature is: “My Favorite Tomboy;” Lesbian contestants giving a personal testimony about their lover, family and a hodgepodge of emotional blabbering.

Small wonder because the host of the show is himself a homosexual.

The most disheartening aspect of this public display is when they mentioned the name of God in their statements as if He would approve of such sin just because one utters His name. The Bible calls this sin an abomination; therefore, the sin, not the person, is of extreme hatred or detestation to God. We must be very careful in our zeal not to allow our emotions to drive us to hate the person as opposed to hating the sin.

An example of misguided zeal: 

Yesterday as I was reading through some comments regarding a story about a transgender issue before the courts and one of the comments was, “…looks as if he is heading toward the gas chamber… not happy about this… forced to approve and be a part of this.” This is NOT what is commanded of us as Christians!

As Bible believers we certainly know the truth of Romans 1:18-32 regarding homosexuality, but let us look closely at the verses:

“Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.” (Romans 1:19)
“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:” (Romans 1:24)
“For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:” (Romans 1:26)
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; (Romans 1:28)

In those verses the Bible says, “God hath shewed it unto them,” “God also gave them up,” “God gave them up” and “God gave them over.” It was God who took the action toward their sin, not you and not me. It is God’s business to judge the person for we are not God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit…although I believe there are those zealots who would submit their resume thinking the position was available.

In fact, much of the reason that this sin is so prevalent today rests on the doorstep of the church. Why? Because the church refused to love them so they sought a false love outside of the church. 

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. (Matthew 22:37)

This is the first and great commandment. (Matthew 22:38)

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Matthew 22:39)

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (Matthew 22:40)

We are commanded to love others as we love ourselves. When folks start doing as the verses command us, we will see great revival and repentance.
