Snap Thoughts

promise

Greetings Family,

Yes, it’s been a very long time between posts.

2021 is the year I would like to forget. As if all of the draconian Covid restrictions were not enough to dampen my spirit, in the very last month of this year we got slammed by a super typhoon.

We had no power for 5 days. In fact, our little group fled to a small hotel that had an excellent generator. I assumed that with available power, I could reach out to family and allow them to know that we were safe. In all of the confusion and disarray, I forgot that we also needed a viable cellular system to connect to the internet. Thankfully, that service was restored on the fourth day after the storm.

The good news is that our little 4 unit single story apartment building withstood the winds and the rain. Oh, there was damage all around us, but our building remained solid.

I am trying my best to get back into a daily routine, but I have not yet come to terms with my inner self.

Please pray that I can get back to the business of writing.

Honestly, I need to get back my joy.

The good news? Even in my extended absence our family here continued to grow. That makes me very happy. So in keeping with my promise to acknowledge every new family member let’s all give a warm welcome to GP Group Poster, John Saxon, and Goff James.

Continue to pray for the Philippines. Several islands were severely impacted by the typhoon. Here on our little island the power company is projecting that power will not be fully restored to several areas until February 2022. Those areas are about 50Km to the north of us. In fact, one bridge on the national road was destroyed so that will definitely hamper repair and restoration efforts to all of the towns to the north.

Glad to be alive to today, because so far there have been over 280 fatalities and many still reported as missing.

I love you all.

Be kind to one another.

Do something nice for someone today.

Peace.
